oXygen

What is oXygen?

<oXygen/> is an XML editor that supports all the XML schema languages. The XSLT and XQuery support is enhanced with powerful debuggers and performance profilers. You can use oXygen XML Editor to work with all XML-based technologies including XML databases, XProc pipelines, and web services.

Specially tuned for content authors, oXygen XML Author comes with a configurable and extensible visual editing mode based on W3C CSS stylesheets with ready-to-use DITA, DocBook, TEI and XHTML support.

Eligibility

Faculty, staff and students at UVA may install the <oXygen/> XML Editor.  For eligibility details and possible restrictions, visit the UVA Software Gateway.

Installation instructions for Windows, Mac, and Linux

Eligible users must first download the license file from UVA Software.  The first download is a small text file that contains 9 lines of text. The same text is applied to every version over version 10, and works for each operating system.

Instructions: New installation

  1. Go to the oXygenXML download website.
  2. Select the appropriate version for your operating system and download the file.  The current version is 24.
  3. Run the installer.
  4. After installation open the program. You will be prompted to enter your license file.
  5. Open the license file and copy all nine lines of text. Paste all copied nine lines of text into the box provided. This will enable all aspects of oXygen.

Instructions: Renewal

The product does not expire. When a new version comes out, a new license file will be made available that supports the latest version.
